Sex and the City Tour in NYC :)

Hi meine Lieben, ich bin ja ein ganz großer Fan von Sex and the City, wie wahrscheinlich einige von Euch :) Den neuen Film habe ich zwar noch nicht gesehen, obwohl schon der Kinostart war, aber nächsten Samstag ist es hoffentlich so weit. Meine Erwartungen sind dennoch nicht allzu groß aber ich lasse mich mal überraschen. In New York haben wir an der Sex and City Tour teilgenommen. Die Tour erfüllt wahrlich alle Klischees aber für Fans ist sie ein absolutes Muss. Ca. 3,5 Stunden fährt man mit einem Bus durch die Hotspots New York. Zwischendurch erzählt der Tourguide einiges zur Serie und zu den Schauplätzen. Während der Fährt wird auch der ein oder andere Ausschnitt aus der Serie bzw. dem Film gezeigt und schwups fährt man daran vorbei. Einige Stopps sind natürlich auch vorgesehen zum klassischen Cupcake-Essen, Cosmopolitans schlürfen oder dem Restaurant, wo das Rehearsal Dinner von Carrie und Big stattgefunden hat. Die Tickets für die Tour kosten um die $ 40 und am besten bucht man die Tour über das Internet im voraus, dann geht nichts schief. So haben wir das auch gemacht, denn manche Tage waren bereits schon im Vorfeld ausverkauft.

Hi friends, I am a big fan of Sex and the City, as probably the most of you :) I haven't seen the new movie, yet, but I am going to see it with my friends on next Saturday. My expectations are not high, though, but I will see. In New York we attended the Sex and the City tour. The tour confirms all typical stereotypes but it is a lot of fun, believe me. Within 3,5 hours you drive to the most important hotspots of the show by bus. The tourguide tells stories about the series and shows the places. In the bus you have several screens on which sequences of the show or movie are played. After you watched a part you drive by the place which is very nice. Of course the bus stops during the tour and you have time to eat a cupcake at the Magnolia bakery, drink a Cosmo and visit the restaurant where Carrie and Big had their wedding rehearsal dinner. The tour cost approximately $ 40 and you should book your tickets in advance because sometimes some tour dates are already sold out. We also booked our tickets in advance at the internet and had no problems at all.

Die Tour endent direkt vor dem HBO Merchandise Laden  am Bryant Park :) Da habe ich mir gleich diesen Schlüsselanhänger und Pin gekauft. Für Tourteilnehmer gibt es auch einen extra Rabatt.

I totally fell in love with the Vera Wang dress. It is so beautiful! In Manhattan you'll find stores to shop at almost every corner. There are so many things to discover. I loved to just walk around and do some window shopping. Lovely!

Blue like the ocean...

Was ist ein Urlaub ohne Meer? Genau, nur halb so schön und Gott sei Dank wird einem auch das in New York geboten. Mit der Subway durch Brooklyn bis Coney Island und schwups ist am atlantischen Ozean. Oh, wie schön. Es bietet sich vor allem unter der Woche an, dort einen Ausflug hin zu planen, da dann der Strand nicht so überfüllt ist. Und auch mein in New York geshopptes, blaues Top / Kleid konnte gleich ausgeführt werden. Nach ca. 45 Min. U-Bahn Fahrt ist man dann wieder mitten drinnen im Trubel von Manhattan. Verrückt.

Imagine holidays without the sea? It is only half so nice and thank god you'll find it in New York, too. By subway you pass Brooklyn and when you get out at the station Coney Island you are directly at the Atlantic Ocean. Nice! To avoid crowds it is the best to go there within the weekdays. It was the best place to wear my new blue top / dress which I bought days before in NYC. It takes you 45 minutes and you are back in the centre of Manhattan. Crazy!

Oh Prima donna, oh wie toll! In New York sind wird wir in der 5th Avenue auf diesen tollen Laden namens Prima donna gestoßen. Hier gibt es alles, was das Accessoires-Herz begehrt. Von Schuhen über Schmuck bis hin zu Markentaschen wie bspw. Guess. Und dabei habe ich mich in diese wunderbare Kette verliebt und sie auch gleich gekauft - $18.50. Oh Prima donna...

Shoes, jewelry as well as bags from well known brands as Guess. I fell in love with this gorgeous necklace and bought it - $18.50. Oh Prima donna...

Die Tür zum Hotelzimmer öffnet sich, die Einkaufstüten mit all den tollen, neuen Sachen werden auf das Bett geschmissen und nun beginnt der beste Part: Nochmal alles anziehen, ausprobieren und bestaunen, was man in den letzten Stunden unter dem Shopping-Adrenalin so schönes gekauft hat :) Ja, das waren wir und so sah es aus:

Hi meine Lieben, eine gute Internetseite um sich auf eine NYC Reise vorzubereiten ist nycgo.com. Hier findet man nahezu alle Infos, die man so braucht. So sind wir auch im Vorfeld darauf aufmerksam geworden, dass es in Soho ein Topshop gibt! Juchu!!! Und dann auch noch 3 Etagen sowie eine eigene Schuhlounge. Der absolute Wahnsinn! Generell hat uns das Shoppen in Soho am Besten gefallen. Vor allem in der Gegend Spring Street / Broadway. Diese erreicht man am Besten, wenn man direkt mit der Subway bis "Spring Street" fährt und dann runter läuft. Von kleinen Boutiquen über Designer Sale Stores bis hin zu namenhaften Marken wie Longchamp, Armani etc. findet man hier alles, was das Shopping-Herz begehrt. Mango, H&M und Forever 21 dürfen hier auch nicht fehlen. Läuft man etwas weiter stößt man auf viele Billig-Läden, die Schmuck und Klamotten sehr günstig anbieten. Und ganz Klischeemäßig wird man auch auf der Straße angesprochen, ob man nicht "Louis Vuitton" Taschen oder Gucci kaufen möchte. Ihr wisst schon ;)

Hi friends, to prepare your stay in NYC the website nycgo.com is very helpful to organize yourself. While surfing we discovered that Soho has a Topshop! It has 3 floors and even an own shoe lounge so it was kind of a paradise to shop there. In general we loved shopping in Soho especially in the area of Spring Street / Broadway. You get there by subway and take the station "Spring Street" and walk around. You'll find small boutiques, designer sale stores and brands like Longchamp, Armani etc. Mango, H&M or Forever 21 are present as well. If you walk further you'll find small cheap stores which sell jewellery and clothes. Sometimes people on the street ask you to buy Louis Vuitton or Gucci bags. You know what I am talking off :)
